Retrospective look on GLOBE
When you read about GLOBE, it’s pretty obvious that the academic, intellectual, and professional benefits are enormous –global business exposure, global network of students and professionals, global teamwork skills, etc., all of which takes most people years to build. For me, what was beyond the “classroom” was what added most to my experience. Who can say that they climbed the Eiffel Tower, climbed the Great Wall of China, touched the Berlin Wall, or watched the sunrise in Hong Kong all within one year? But, hands down, the most rewarding aspect of GLOBE was that we went from being a group of complete strangers from three different continents to being an actual family, the closest that can ever be found in the world (literally). It is these people that make the smallest moments –walking back to the hotel after a night out in Tokyo, or taking an 18-hour bus ride to Brussels—the most memorable. GLOBE and the people in GLOBE have given me the best 1½ years of my life.
